Infographic – 6 Tips For Preventing Swimming Pool Accidents

Every year there are deaths due to at home swimming pools and hot tubs.  Here are a few safety tips that will ensure your family will not fall victim to this tragedy. Every pool or hot tub should have a barrier. Consider installing a 4’ fence completely around the pool with a self-latching gate.  When you are not using the pool or hot tub, place a safety cover over the water. Remove the ladders and steps that allow access. Consider a pool alarm that will sound when someone has entered the pool, Never swim alone, and never allow children to swim without adult supervision. When the pool is being used, designate an adult to watch the pool and require children and people who are not strong swimmers to wear a life-jacket. Finally, keep the water clean and clear as to allow visibility. Make sure the adults know how to perform CPR in case the unthinkable happens.
